The two planets were locked in a shared tragic fate, circling endlessly around a pitch-black great sun like an eternal rondo.
In the beginning, one planet gave birth to humanity. These people looked downward and called the land below "Izumo." They looked upward and named the world above "Takamagahara."
On a day recorded in no history, the Yaoyorozu-no-kami descended from Takamagahara. These demonic beasts, called Kami, overturned the skies, set rivers and oceans ablaze, and shattered the land—people realized in terror that this was not an invasion for rule, dominance, or plunder. The evil Kami came only to kill.
With the planet on the verge of extinction, Izumo began a Kami-slaying campaign, exhausting the nation's full strength to slay the calamity "Sovereign of Revelation" and forge the very first Edict Edge from its bestial body.
Turning the Kami's own methods against them, those who wield these swords can recite the mantra sealed within the blade to master the divine power of Takamagahara, using it to fight the evil Kami and save the people.
From that point, Izumo embarked on a long and brutal crusade, trading countless human lives for the fall of one Kami after another, shattering innumerable mortal blades to create the twelve Sentinels.
In the relentless struggle for survival, Izumo used the power of the Edict Edges to illuminate their dark, primitive world in fewer than ten Amber Eras, building cities of dazzling neon lights.
That distant Takama Divine Realm, once so far away, now seemed within reach—
But history abruptly stopped there. The existence of both planets vanished in an instant, dissolving into nothingness.
Today, the past of the border planet Izumo can only be glimpsed through scattered whispers across the universe. Scholars hold various theories about its disappearance, but none can solve the mystery.
Izumo's history should have been a long flowing river, but it was cut short in a single stroke, with all its past and future voided on the other shore of emptiness.
Did it never truly exist, being merely a fabricated story? Did its histories never happen, running aground on the beach of reverse causation? Was it yet another horrifying experiment by Dr. Primitive, or a sign of the Voracity returning from the end of the Cosmos?
Only that pitch-black great sun knows the answer, yet THEY remain silent, never speaking.
Because everything that has happened will one day regress to the end, and everything that has ended is certain to happen again. The universe undergoes an eternal recurrence under THEIR shadow, and Izumo is nothing more than a footnote for an ellipsis.
