High school student Himiko Himejima has her life irrevocably altered when a mysterious flame manifests before her. Together with her classmate Kutani Masahiko, Himiko is swept away by the fire to the ancient kingdom of Yamatai. The realm is currently under assault by the Kune empire during a ritual intended to choose a queen from six candidates. As the malevolent general of Kune conjures an undead army to seize power, the six contenders for the throne organize a resistance to topple the Kune regime. Himiko and Kutani quickly find themselves battling alongside these queen candidates to defend the kingdom. Wielding newfound abilities, the duo gradually uncovers their deep connections to this ancient world and awakens to the might of the sacred flame.
