This series is an adaptation of the gag manga "Fuuta-kun" created by Fujio Fujiko. A single pilot episode was produced and aired for a short time in the early 1970s. It was regarded as lost media for many years until it was rediscovered in April 2022.

The series "Tobidase! Bacchiri" centers on a schoolboy detective known for his remarkably large ears, who applies his exceptional intellect to crack cases that the police find too difficult. Each installment lasted ten minutes and was broadcast daily from Monday through Saturday.
