Often described by the phrase "Yoshitsune in the east, Tametomo in the west," he was known locally as Hachirou Chinzei and constructed a fortress there. Together with his forces, he is said to have vanquished 50,000 enemies, generating numerous legends. Chinzei was famous as a master archer and a physically imposing man with a hot-tempered and naturally violent nature. However, he also showed considerable tenderness and benevolence, unveiling a softer aspect.
