Over two decades ago, a malevolent summoner performed the "Great Summon," which killed a third of humanity and allowed devils and monsters to overrun Earth. One day, painter Tamura Fukutaro moves into the apartment building known as Ashiaraiyashiki, where he becomes entangled in the problems of his non-human neighbors. This marks the start of a fierce conflict among gods, devils, and the ruler known as "The Central."
