In "Interviews With Monster Girls," Tetsuo Takahashi, a high school biology teacher with a friendly demeanor, secretly harbors a deep curiosity about "Ajin," commonly called "Demi." Though these half-human, half-monster beings are already integrated into human communities, Takahashi believes direct interaction can reveal more about them.
The story follows Takahashi's daily life at Shibasaki High School, where he works alongside three Demi students: Hikari Takanashi, an energetic vampire; Kyouko Machi, a gentle dullahan; and Yuki Kusakabe, a shy snow woman. He also encounters Sakie Satou, a succubus teacher who feels anxious around men. Eager to understand Demi better, Takahashi holds casual interviews with his students, examining their unique abilities, psychological traits, and adjustment to human society. As he builds closer relationships with them, Takahashi begins to see the Demi as less extraordinary than he first imagined.
