The anime is based on artist Daisuke Kimura's four-panel manga of the same name. The story focuses on vegetables that children dislike, that people are reluctant to eat, and that have strong odors. The series depicts these vegetables as they go to a bar to share drinks and discuss their concerns.

The story revolves around Ribbon-chan, a girl who has trouble with English. After forming a contract with her familiar, a creature called Toner, she becomes a magical girl. Her aim is to become a legendary idol by filling the Tokyo Dome with fans via her live performances.
