Set in the year 2300 AD, the story begins when the Radam launch an assault on Earth. Several months into the invasion, a warrior known as Tekkaman Blade arrives. Assisted by the Space Knights, he joins the battle against the Radam, yet he keeps several secrets hidden regarding his own history.

Natsumi Mizuki is a fourth grader whose parents have gone to London, leaving her in the care of her Aunt Izumi. Izumi is an aspiring manga writer trying to get her first big break, so she has little time for a baby that suddenly appears out of nowhere on Natsumi’s first night alone. The baby’s name is Mirai, and her mother is Natsumi—but a Natsumi who is fifteen years older. Somehow, Mirai has traveled back in time. Now young Natsumi must raise Mirai while trying to keep her fourth-grade life from falling apart and keep Mirai-chan a secret from everyone. She has the dubious help of Izumi and some baby-care gadgets from the future.

The Earth is suddenly targeted by the space pirate Orbus, who seeks to drain the Planet Energy that sustains life. If he manages to strike multiple Release Points where this energy is concentrated simultaneously, the planet will be destroyed. During the initial assault, Takasugi Seiji takes refuge in an ancient temple alongside his girlfriend, Kosaka Hikaru. There, the Earth's consciousness bestows upon him Orin, a sacred token belonging to the leader of the Earth's guardians. Harnessing the power of Orin, Seiji transforms a patrol car into the giant robot Da Garn.

Mary Bell, a magical girl appearing as a five-year-old child, descends from the Flower Magic World into the human realm to assist and inspire people.

Jackie Rhodes, a British girl living in Kenya with her family, discovers an ill animal called a Bushbaby. She adopts it, names it Murphy, and nurses it back to health. Murphy, Jackie, her family, and their friends go on many adventures involving wild animals, poachers, and more. But when Jackie's father is recalled to England, she must leave her life in Africa behind. However, before she can go, Jackie, Murphy, and Tembo—a friend of Jackie's father—embark on one last adventure: crossing the dangerous savannah to escape the poachers and corrupt police officers chasing them. Along the way, Jackie teaches the now-domesticated Murphy to survive in the wild so that, before she leaves, she can release him into his natural habitat.

The story chronicles Officer Black Cat's exploits in the woodsy community, capturing lawbreakers, dispensing justice, and cracking cases.
