Eunseol Lee's high school teacher Jeonghyeok Yun was the only one who helped her from being bullied by other students. Six years later, she must convince him to enter a marriage of convenience with her in order to escape her abusive family. After Eunseol's beloved grandfather was diagnosed with dementia, Eunseol Lee was sent to live with her uncle's family. She is mistreated by them for many years, and the only adult who shows any kindness to her is Jeonghyeok Yun, her stoic high school teacher. Six years later, Eunseol learns that Jeonghyeok is the grandson of the Hocheon Foundation president and that an arrangement has been made for him to marry a female member of her family. Everyone expects Eunseol's cousin Minseo to become his bride. Realizing that her only escape from her abusive relatives is through marriage, Eunseol makes a daring move by proposing to Jeonghyeok. A loveless marriage begins, but as time passes, both Eunseol and Jeonghyeok learn that there could be much more between them.
