Shunrei é uma órfã que foi colocada sob a guarda de Dohko, o mestre de Shiryu. Ela compartilha um vínculo profundo com Shiryu, assemelhando-se a uma irmã ou talvez algo mais profundo. Na era Omega, ela se torna a esposa de Shiryu e mãe de Ryuhou.
