Resumo
Hikari is a seasoned young child evaluator (family support examiner) who has grown cynical from years of assessing families. Trained from childhood in the state's parenthood testing system, he grapples with the isolation of his role — required to remain detached while simulating familial bonds. He moves from home to home, living with potential parents for two weeks, watching, prodding, and provoking them to gauge their suitability for caregiving .He is assigned to Daiki and Chisa Hirokawa, a young couple living on the grounds of a Shinto shrine and the assignment becomes a turning point — he embarks on an internal journey through flashbacks to his early days as an inspector and his deep-seated longing for a family of his own.
