Isaka, Koutarou

Personal Information

Koutarou Isaka was born in Chiba and currently resides in Sendai. After earning a degree in law and working as a system engineer, he launched his writing career with Akuto-Tachi ga Meni Shimiru (Rogues Get in Your Eyes), which received a commendation for the Suntory Grand Prize of Mystery in 1996. His subsequent works have garnered significant recognition: Audubon no Inori (The Prayer of Audubon) secured the Shincho Grand Prize of Mystery, while Ahiru to Kamo no Coin Locker (A Duck and a Wild Duck in the Same Locker) earned him the Eiji Yoshihara Prize for best new author. Additionally, his short story Shinigami no Seido (Accuracy of the Grim Reaper) was honored with the Japanese Authors Association of Mystery Award. Isaka has also been the recipient of the 57th Mystery Writers of Japan Award and the 21st Prize Yamamoto Syuugorou.
