Motochika Narasaki hails from a loud, crowded household, and his two younger brothers leave him almost no space to be by himself. When his offers to work the school library in the evenings come up as a way to get some quiet—thanks to some pressure from his teacher—he reluctantly agrees. What he doesn't anticipate is encountering the well-known troublemaker Natsuki Terashima, who has also been drafted into handling the library duties. At first, Narasaki is certain he could never find common ground with someone like Terashima; yet, as they spend one calm evening after another reading together, Narasaki is compelled to reconsider, and the unlikely duo gradually grows closer. However, this setup is only meant to continue until summer break, and Narasaki soon has to determine what this period of time—and the person he shares it with—truly means to him.
