Metatron makes a wager in order to conquer the body and heart of the archangel Gabriel. The challenge is to make Mammon, an angel of Hell, fall in love with him. To carry out the bet, Metatron travels to Hell and attempts to seduce Mammon. At the time, Mammon is a childlike figure who is constantly bullied. After Metatron comes to his rescue, Mammon begins following him around, calling him "Mother." Seeing that the young Mammon can barely speak and is incapable of standing up for himself, Metatron lends him some of his own power so he can fight back against his tormentors. However, once Mammon transforms into the form of an adult, Metatron discovers that his own soul now resides within him. Empowered by his newfound strength, Mammon treats Metatron as though they have met before and attempts to keep him trapped in Hell, refusing to let him leave. The truth is, the two share a forgotten past... "There's no need to rush. I'll help you remember... little by little."
