A "steward" is a human who sees to the needs of the gods. One day, after a peculiar old man hands him a book, perpetual part-timer Yoshihiko finds himself visiting many of the countless deities and hearing their requests, accompanied by the fox god Kogane. Thus, he ends up at the beck and call of the gods of tales and legends, who seem more human than humans themselves. What can an ordinary person lacking special abilities or fantastic tools possibly do for them? And is he their helper or merely their messenger? But there is no mistaking the warm connection between the heartfelt desires of the gods and humanity.
