The story centers on fifth-grader Tadamichi Aoba, nicknamed Dandoh. Dandoh and his two best friends are the star players of their baseball team. After an incident with their school principal, they are introduced to the world of golf. They are trained by former professional golfer Shinjō Mikiyasu, who believes they have the ability to surpass even him. As Dandoh enters tournament play, his friendly spirit, determination, hard work, and competitive attitude bring out the best in those around him, earning him many friends.
