The Galactic Federation values the Earth colony K-2L for its abundant deposits of the mineral Afloraltite. The Chozo, an ancient race of wise, bird-like aliens, visit the planet. Old Bird, a respected Chozo elder, forms a bond with Samus Aran, a courageous human toddler living peacefully with her parents. This tranquility is shattered when the Space Pirate Ridley and his monstrous crew arrive, slaughtering the colony’s inhabitants. Samus narrowly survives the attack. Old Bird and the other Chozo rescue her, bringing her to their homeworld, Zebes, where they raise her as one of their own. To help her survive Zebes’s harsh conditions, they infuse her developing body with Chozo DNA. As an adult, Samus becomes a renowned bounty hunter working for the Galactic Federation. Haunted by PTSD from the massacre she witnessed as a child, she battles dangerous alien threats across the galaxy, driven by a desire to protect innocent lives and maintain peace.
