In the kingdom of Ente Isla, the Demon Lord Satan is on the verge of conquering humanity with his overwhelming demonic army. When victory seems inevitable, the human hero Emilia defeats him, forcing Satan to flee through a portal into an unknown world—Earth. Arriving in modern-day Tokyo with his loyal retainer Alsiel, Satan finds himself confused and ignorant of this new reality. After gathering some information from a police officer, he still faces a major problem: he has no money. With his powers severely weakened, he takes the human alias Sadao Maou, rents a cheap apartment, and gets a part-time job at the fast-food chain MgRonald's. Driven by his goal to conquer both Ente Isla and Earth, he aspires to become a full-time employee, viewing it as essential to his larger plans. As Sadao adjusts to daily life—his job, living conditions, and growing friendships—his circumstances start to improve. But his schemes are disrupted by the unexpected arrival of Emilia, the hero who sent him into exile from Ente Isla.
