"Nigeru Natsu" is a compilation of short stories. The titular story focuses on Chihaya, who harbors feelings for Morisaki. Her family's flower arrangement school, passed down from her father, is facing difficulties, and her stepmother insists she marry into another school to save it. Defying her stepmother, Chihaya flees but is eventually saved by Morisaki. Choosing not to go back, she spends her summer at Morisaki's house, feeling the tension despite Morisaki's apparent lack of awareness.
