Gate Gaiden: Jieitai Kanochi nite, Kaku Tatakaeri

In 20xx, a mysterious portal called the "Gate" suddenly opened in Tokyo's Ginza district, unleashing monsters and soldiers into the shopping area and turning it into a bloody battlefield. The Japan Ground Self-Defense Force quickly responded, pushing the invading fantasy creatures back through the Gate. To prepare for future conflicts and begin negotiations, the JGSDF sent the Third Reconnaissance Team into the "Special Region" on the other side. The team was led by Youji Itami, a 33-year-old JSDF officer and dedicated otaku. During their journey, the team faced enemy attacks while exploring various locations and learning about the region's culture and geography. Thanks to their humanitarian aid efforts, they managed to build relationships with the local people, despite some challenges. They even gained new friends including an elf, a sorceress, and a demigoddess. Meanwhile, major world powers like the United States, China, and Russia showed intense interest in the Special Region's abundant resources and began applying diplomatic pressure on Japan. For the great powers, a sudden portal to an unknown world is merely a tool to disrupt the international balance. But for the protagonists, it represents a priceless chance to expand their knowledge, forge friendships, and ultimately broaden their view of the world.
