Arriving at Morinomiya Boarding School a month late, Noeru Minamino is dressed in a cute uniform featuring a blazer and pleated skirt, with a hairband complementing her long wavy hair. However, Maria Minamino—Noeru's twin sister who had already been accepted—is devastated to see her, because Noeru is actually a boy. Due to certain circumstances, he can only enroll as a girl. Noeru's choice to join Maria stems from her interest in the school's basketball coach. As her inseparable twin, he finds this hard to accept and hopes to bring her home. But his plans get complicated when he starts falling for his mysterious roommate, Miyu Makimura. Matters become even more tangled when he finds himself being courted by the ace of the school's basketball team.
