In the world of Sarai, massive floods have submerged Japan entirely. Due to a rare genetic anomaly, people in this land seldom live past the age of sixteen, and those who do transform into hideous monsters. Order is virtually nonexistent. One of the few remaining forms of protection are warrior maids—bodyguards for hire who will do absolutely anything for a client, effectively serving as protective slaves. Sarai Kannagi and her partner, Flicker, are two such individuals. Their adventures bring them into conflict with humans who have mutated into giant rock monsters, hairy arctic people, and other abominations of this desolate future world.

Background

Sarai had eight volumes published in English by ComicsOne from 2000 to April 4, 2005.
