For generations, the Lee and Dai families have maintained a connection that started as a master-servant arrangement and later became a deep friendship between their children. Following this tradition, Dai Xiaodao—also known as Dai Xiaoshuang—takes on the role of manservant for her childhood friend Li Qingri, filling in for her deceased brother, Dai Dadao. Her difficulties start with keeping up the appearance of a boy, but that is only the beginning of what she faces. She also has to hide her growing feelings for Li Qingri, who is now her roommate, while dealing with a threatening senpai who keeps offering her fish and an innocent-looking female classmate with a hidden predatory side. Adding to her problems, Dai Xiaodao picks up a strange, alluring scent after colliding with the notorious Ye Weien on a quiet path. Despite the stories, she struggles to believe that this annoying playboy could really be her destined partner.
