In "Diabolik Lovers: Anthology Cardinal," Yui Komori's father, a priest sent on an assignment to Eastern Europe, asks her to stay with supposed distant relatives. Though unsure of her actual connection to the Sakamaki brothers—Shuu, Reiji, Ayato, Kanato, Laito, and Subaru—Yui knows one thing for certain: they are vampires, and she is their prey. While living with the Sakamaki brothers, Yui experiences their erratic behavior. They may treat her with kindness or hurl insults, draw her blood gently or roughly, and occasionally their manner suggests a hint of affection. The brothers' possessiveness over Yui never wavers, and they refuse to share her among themselves. When only two of them are present, Yui begins to believe their bond might grow beyond mere thirst for blood into something more loving. But is she only deceiving herself?
