After losing his father, Takeuchi Masami gets thrown out by his uncle and is left with only a small allowance, forcing him to secretly sleep at school. His cute classmate, Kagome Nishino, tries to help him find a place to live. She comes across what seems like a perfect spot—an empty, unfurnished apartment—and urges Takeuchi to move in immediately, even suggesting he stays his first night without a futon. But Kagome has a hidden agenda; she is deeply obsessed with the supernatural and has just started a "paranormal research club" at their school. The apartment's suspiciously low rent is due to rumors of it being haunted, a detail she conveniently withholds. On his first night, Takeuchi faces a series of terrifying ghostly events that push his fear to the edge.
