Marufuku Kataomoi is a collection of romantic short stories set during summertime at a school in Kyuushuu. The first tale focuses on Nao and Umi, former childhood friends who have grown apart as they reached adolescence. Nao has become a good-looking and well-liked boy among the girls, while Umi, feeling uneasy and uncertain, attempts to avoid him. Their emotions surface when they unexpectedly end up together on a school trip. The second story follows a student who develops feelings for her attractive new teacher but worries that her affections may be one-sided. In the third story, Nana shares a close and rivalrous bond with her first-year teammate Hikaru, whom she bonds with over a love for basketball. Their relationship shifts when they go to the summer festival together.
