アホリズム

Naraka High School is situated on a floating island above the clouds, hovering over the busy streets of the Saitama district. Graduating from this elite academy can elevate one's social standing, and anyone who can see the school after applying is accepted as a student. This is the situation for Momiji Rokudou, who sees this as his opportunity for a fresh start and a new sense of purpose. Upon arriving, students are instructed to write down a word of their choice that they will use later. On his right arm, Momiji writes the kanji for "change." Unfortunately, the change he anticipates becomes a nightmare when monsters flood the school, killing those unfortunate enough to be in their path. Momiji and his fellow classmates must now survive the endless hordes of beasts to graduate from this hellish institution; after all, who said high school would be easy?

Background

Aphorism originally ended with 14 volumes and 84 chapters (81+ 3 side stories) on January 28, 2016. Serialization resumed on March 21, 2022 under the title "Aphorism Dainibu" (アホリズム第弐部). The chapter count was reset to 1, but the volume count continued with 15. The series has been published digitally in English by Yen Press since November 24, 2015.
