In the capital of Japan, the land of Gion, a mysterious divine power has led to great prosperity. This power only affects girls, transforming them into half-animal beings—a sign they serve a god—and granting them immense strength. Those strong enough become Onmyou, warriors who combat evil. Others, whose power goes out of control, turn into Orochi, doomed to bring death and destruction. It was believed that Orochi had to be killed, with no chance to save the afflicted victim... Until a mysterious young man named Gion appeared to rescue one such girl. Can he be strong enough to defeat the Orochi and end their reign of terror?
