Abara

The narrative of Abara takes place in a dystopian setting dominated by enormous structures. The central element involves beings called Gaunas, who are able to generate bone-like armor and weapons from their bodies through a transformation that initiates along the spine and subsequently builds up layered protection. The primary protagonist is a Gauna named Kudou Denji, although he initially goes by the alias Itou Denji. Additionally, the volume includes a one-shot: Volume 2's "Digimortal," consisting of two parts.

Background

Abara has been licensed in English by VIZ Media who plans to release the series in a complete deluxe edition. It was published in Italian by Panini Comics under the Planet Manga imprint from July 5 to August 2, 2007 and was rereleased in a single omnibus on February 8, 2014, in Polish by Japonica Polonica Fantastica on October 2014 as part of "Mega Manga" series, and in Brazilian Portuguese by Panini Comics from May to July 2009.
