For five years after his sister died, Satsuki Kakeru existed without direction until his childhood friend Minase Yuka and their schoolmates helped him regain a sense of normalcy. Then one day, the sky turned crimson, the moon went dark, and everyone except Kakeru and Yuka disappeared. Monsters prowled the empty streets, forcing them to run and hide. The world eventually returned to normal, and they first dismissed it as a bad dream. But when the Red Night happened again, they discovered four others who were also affected: Kusakabe Misuzu, a red-haired onmyouji wielding a sword; Tachibana Kukuri, a quiet, mysterious girl resembling Kakeru’s late sister; Hirohara Yukiko, a lively girl who becomes a merciless killer when she takes off her glasses; and Tajima Takahisa, a young boy with pyrokinetic powers. Brought together by their shared ordeal, they band together to survive, but soon encounter six shadowy figures. Note: This follows the Kusakabe Misuzu route from the visual novel.
