Koutetsu Tenshi Kurumi

In Taisho-era Japan, Nakahito Kagura, a young man training to become a priest, stumbles upon a hidden laboratory owned by the scientist Ayanokouji. There, he meets Kurumi, a Steel Angel created for battle. During a raid by imperial soldiers, an accidental kiss triggers Kurumi's activation, and she instantly declares Nakahito her one and only master. While evading the military, and with the awakening of Kurumi's sisters, Saki and Karinka, Nakahito, Kurumi, and Professor Ayanokouji set off on a quest to unravel the secret of the Angel Heart, the energy source that fuels the Steel Angels.

Background

Koutetsu Tenshi Kurumi started its serialization in Ace Dash, but after being discontinued after only 7 issues, the series moved to the newly created Ace Next and featured the magazine until the last nineteen chapters, which were published in Shounen Ace. The series had nine volumes published in English as Steel Angel Kurumi by ADV Manga from December 29, 2003 to December 7, 2004, before the license was dropped and the publisher went defunct.
