During her middle school years, Hiro Momose endured bullying and was made to run errands for delinquents. Now starting high school, she hopes for a fresh start. The school requires every student to join a club, but clumsy Hiro gets turned down by every one she tries. That leads her to the Helper's Club—a nearly defunct group with only Dan Ichikura as a member. On the surface, Ichikura appears perfect: good grades, athletic, dependable. Yet he hides a secret that hits uncomfortably close to Hiro's past: he used to be a delinquent. When Hiro discovers this, Ichikura makes her promise to keep it quiet. Now, Hiro must avoid falling back into her old middle-school life and make this unexpected situation work for them both.
