Kuruto Kagemitsu, a vengeful yet cute boy, accidentally calls forth the demon Shuma, making Shuma his unwilling servant. Their objective has two parts: Kuruto's personal mission and Shuma's forced duty—to defeat 71 of the 72 demons ruled by King Solomon, sparing only Shuma himself. The demons are rumored to be under the control of a lone summoner. Kuruto is resolved to prove to his mother that he can achieve this goal.
