Jinna Amakura lived a rather ordinary high school life, though he had a somewhat thrifty personality. His fate took a strange twist when he was supposed to perish but continued living, marking him as a "Soul Irregular" according to supernatural regulations. Nagi, a fresh Shinigami, receives orders to eliminate Jinna in order to correct the balance of existence. If she fails, she will be turned into her favorite sweet and devoured by the Shinigami leader. Her assignment starts off badly, and matters deteriorate further as Nagi and Jinna develop an unexpected, almost amicable bond. It won't be long until her higher-ups catch wind of this situation.
