Emma Ji and Ryan Nam have been neighbors and close friends for as long as either can recall. Emma is a scatterbrained person who would be utterly lost without Ryan and his quirky family, who have taken on the responsibility of looking after her while her parents are away. From rousing her each morning to tidying her room, Ryan constantly attends to her needs, almost like an overly protective parent. The Nam family carries a supernatural secret that must remain hidden, but they find it increasingly challenging to keep it concealed with Emma perpetually nearby. One afternoon after school, Emma arrives home and finds an enormous dog napping on her balcony! Will Emma ever figure out who the dog belongs to and why Ryan is never around whenever the dog shows up?
