Okuto Nakamura is a shy and gloomy-looking student who treasures only two things in life: his pet octopus and his warm-hearted classmate, Aiki Hirose. Ever since the school entrance ceremony, Nakamura has adored his cheerful classmate, though he keeps his distance due to his poor social abilities. After summoning every bit of courage he has, he finally works up the nerve to speak to Hirose. In that first attempt at making contact, a reflexive blunder turns the prospect of friendship into a far-off fantasy, as he leaves an absurd impression on his crush. At school, students are expected to work together on many activities, which gives Nakamura extra time with Hirose. Given these chances, can he successfully make up for his mistake and reach his goal of becoming close friends with Hirose?
