Senke is a timid and melancholic man harboring secret feelings for Masaharu, a mailman at his workplace. Unable to confess his love, he projects his affection onto a Digital Monkey named Masaharu on his computer. Plagued by the recession, meager wages as a dispatch worker, and a tyrannical supervisor, Senke endures endless nights of overtime. Eventually, Masaharu confronts Senke about his exhausting work habits and discovers the digital pet. In a moment of extreme stress, Senke breaks down and rapes Masaharu. Following this traumatic event, Masaharu shuns Senke, who continues to work mechanically until he learns that his Digital Monkey has died. Believing this to be a divine sign due to his guilt and fatigue, Senke rushes to find Masaharu. Upon confirming that Masaharu is safe, Senke is overcome with relief and collapses.
