A brilliant but unhinged scientist created a unique flower in his pursuit of eternal youth and immortality, planting the seeds of this "Premier Rose" inside human beings. Having roses within their bodies gave the human hosts numerous advantages, but also severe drawbacks—including the requirement for the roses to consume victims. Most of the test subjects, called "Black Roses," were employed as living weapons and kept under their creator's control. One experimental subject was labeled a "defective failure" and concealed. Claudia, the "Rose Witch" known as a "Crimson Rose," generally does not need to feed on humans and only does so when she loses her restraint. When the Roses' creator vanished five years ago, the research organization quickly rebranded itself as "Red Rose." Pulled from obscurity, Claudia became Red Rose's main tool for eliminating the suddenly uncontrollable Black Roses. Protected by her blood-bound guardian, the "Thorn" named Wilhelm, and cooperating with a special Red Rose unit called "Crimson-Shell," Claudia must endure betrayal from a suspected mole inside the organization while uncovering the truth about a "Jet Rose" who might be leading the Black Roses.
