In seventeenth-century Japan, after the quelling of a violent revolt in the Aizu region, twenty-one brave warriors and nearly all the nuns from a neighboring convent have been slain. The few nuns who survive vow vengeance and approach the nation's greatest swordsman for training, resolved to destroy those responsible for the deaths of both the fighters and their sister nuns.

Background

Y十M: Yagyuu Ninpouchou was published digitally in English as The Yagyu Ninja Scrolls: Revenge of the Hori Clan by Kodansha USA from August 9, 2016 to April 11, 2017. Before that, it had seven printed volumes published by Del Rey from October 30, 2007 to October 24, 2009, before being taken over by Kodansha.
