Mayonaka no Occult Koumuin

Arata Miyako starts his new job as a civil servant in the Shinjuku Ward Office's "Nighttime Regional Relations" division. All 23 wards of Tokyo have a similar department tasked with handling supernatural and occult incidents. Arata has a special ability: he can understand languages and forms of communication that are unintelligible to ordinary humans. While visiting Shinjuku Gyoen park, he meets a youkai that calls him Abe no Seimei, a legendary figure from Japanese history renowned for his expertise in divination and the occult.
