In the 2040s, technological progress allows Professor Junichirou Yamano to create miniature robots with immense destructive power, which he names Little Battlers eXperience (LBX). Believing these inventions will transform the world, Yamano's life is cut short when the plane carrying him and his fellow designers vanishes without a trace over the Pacific Ocean. Years later, the development of an exceptionally durable type of cardboard enables the construction of small, scenic battlefields where children engage in thrilling combat using their LBX robots. Ban, Professor Yamano's son, shares his father's enthusiasm for LBX but is prohibited by his mother from owning one. This ban is overturned when a woman in a lab coat, fleeing from unknown pursuers, hands Ban a mysterious suitcase before escaping. Inside is LBX AX-00, a unique model that becomes Ban's robotic partner, Achilles—and eventually, humanity's last hope.

Background

Danball Senki is based on the 2011 PlayStation Portable video game of the same name. The series was published in English as LBX: Little Battlers Experience by VIZ Media under the Perfect Square imprint from November 4, 2014, to July 7, 2015. The manga was also released in Spanish by Planeta DeAgostini Comics from January 13, 2015, to January 12, 2016.
