A typical high schooler named Kujou Saburou is hyperactive and has a peculiar obsession with mysterious (alien) occurrences. He quickly befriends the new transfer student Shima Ango, who stumbles upon him during a game of hide-and-seek. Unbeknownst to Kujou, Shima's true purpose is to eradicate the mononoke haunting the Toyko area. Thrown into the middle of one of these battles, Kujou loses his head, unleashing an Oni sealed within him.

Background

Zone-00 had four volumes published digitally in English by VIZ Media, under the VIZ Select imprint, from November 18, 2014 to January 20, 2015, before they dropped the license. Before this, Tokyopop published the same four volumes from August 1, 2009 to July 13, 2010.
