Everywhere she goes, Eun Chaerin is met with admiring sighs—unsurprising for the perfect heroine of a standard romance novel. Once a reader of that novel in the real world, she now has the chance to live it out and claim her fairy-tale ending with the male lead, Yu Jeha. But everything falls apart on the day Jeha is meant to confess his feelings, as he transforms into a grotesque zombie and bites Chaerin. Rather than dying, Chaerin finds herself forced to repeat the same day over and over, trapped in the loop of a bizarre zombie outbreak, powerless to save Jeha. She clings to him desperately, since he is the only person she can see—every background character appears to her as nothing more than a dark silhouette. After nearly four hundred repetitions, something unprecedented occurs: a formless classmate pulls Chaerin to safety, and she catches a glimpse of their real appearance before dying again. The possibility of unlocking and revealing these extra characters fills Chaerin with renewed determination. If she stops focusing on saving Jeha and instead searches for this unknown extra in her next regression, she might finally achieve her happy ending.
