Three high schools are involved: Narayama High, a co-ed institution; Kashimori High, an all-boys school; and Sakuragawa, an all-girls school. Falling enrollment and financial strain force the three to merge, but the officials overseeing the reorganization cannot agree on which campuses to close and which to preserve. Ultimately, they leave the decision to the student body itself. Now every student has a chance to fight for their own school, but only one will remain standing. The student council of Narayama High, at the very least, refuses to surrender without a struggle.
