Byousoku 5 Centimeter

This novel adapts Makoto Shinkai's anime Byousoku 5 Centimeter. The story follows two people, Toono Takaki and Shinohara Akari, who were once close friends but slowly drift apart as time passes. Separated by their families' circumstances, they continue to keep in touch through letters. However, as the years press on, their correspondence gradually ceases. Time goes by, and the distance between them only grows. Yet Takaki holds onto the memories of the moments they shared. As his own life unfolds, he wonders if he will ever have the chance to meet Akari again, all while coming to understand the world and the people around him.
