Three hundred years after a hero defeated a demon lord, the demon lord has been reborn as a sweet, innocent girl who recalls nothing of her former life. Though she still wields her immense powers, she relies on a robotic memory companion to guide her through her new daily existence. Her return heralds the rise of a new hero somewhere in the world. To locate this hero—said to bear a unique mark on his neck—she creates a fairy named Mao. When Mao finds him, the hero proves to be Alsha, a delicate and rather timid boy. Through Mao, with whom she is directly linked, the adorable demon lord secretly watches over and guides Alsha, gradually realizing just how unprepared he is for the role he is meant to fulfill.
