Seo Jinhyuk's primary feeling is boredom. His father works as an overlooked film director, his mother is seldom present, and he lives alone in a large, vacant apartment, dutifully studying and going to school. He longs for independence and escape from the trivial high school social order; like many, he remains a passive observer as bullies target their victims. Among those bullies, Lim Heechan is notable for his attractive appearance and constantly indifferent expression. While cutting through a neighborhood that resembles a dump, Jinhyuk sees Heechan being beaten by his own father. Jinhyuk, though craving any experience—positive or negative—to relieve his boredom, decides not to get involved and risk becoming a target. However, Heechan notices him, and after a few brief encounters, Jinhyuk perceives a soft, kind, and sorrowful side to Heechan. Soon, their silent time together starts turning their mutual apathy into an unforeseen closeness.

Background

Our Youth was published digitally in English by Lezhin Entertainment from March 21, 2022, to June 13, 2023. The manhwa was adapted into a Japanese live-action series titled Miseinen: Mijukuna Oretachi wa Bukiyo ni Shinkochu that began airing in Japan on November 4, 2024.
