Schoolgirl Wakaba is haunted by the haze surrounding her forgotten first love. She holds onto a pendant of mysterious origin, believing it was a present from him. The sight of its intricate key-shaped charm awakens impressions of a weeping boy mixed with the scents of roses and blood. Despite these clues, she cannot identify her past romance until an unexpected meeting. While strolling through the school's rose garden one day, Wakaba comes across a good-looking boy crying. As she attempts to walk away, she accidentally pricks her finger on a rose thorn. The boy notices her injury and, with a startling gesture, licks the blood from her hand. Though stunned at first, Wakaba recognizes the pendant hanging around his neck. She eventually learns that the boy is Yukito Haibara, a newly transferred student, and becomes certain he is her lost first love. Yet the explanation for her memory loss and Yukito's detached behavior remains unclear, deepening the mystery surrounding whispers of vampires sighted near the chemistry lab.
