Minoru's parents are planning to relocate to Las Vegas so that her father can take one final shot at his professional fighting career. Minoru has just started high school and isn't eager to leave Japan, though she also lacks any strong reason to stay. While feeling conflicted about the decision, she follows a girl from her school into an arcade on a whim. Minoru then ends up playing against that girl in a fighting game. The girl introduces herself as Shijou and explains that she is aiming to become a professional gamer. Recognizing that Minoru has talent, Shijou invites her to join forces as a team.
