High school girl Ai experiences a strange dream about a childhood memory in which a little boy saved her and promised to protect her. The dream feels like a fragment of her past, yet she cannot actually recall such an event. Things become even more unusual when she notices a boy in her class whom she does not recognize at all. It seems that every other student is familiar with Akizuki Tooru, but Ai has no memory of him. Sensing something off about Tohru, Ai investigates and discovers that the school has no records of his enrollment. After confronting him, Tohru eventually confesses that he is an ESPer who has infiltrated the school to look into a series of drug-overdose deaths occurring among the students. This marks the beginning of Ai's entanglement in Tohru's life and the dangerous circumstances surrounding his investigation.
